Chester Charity Raft Race 2015, were you there?

We were. Not only in mind, body and spirit but also in product, as we happily provided a 40yd RoRo for the event free of charge: Well, that’s how we roll-on-roll-off (sorry for the skip hire related pun).

As part of our ever-present commitment to supporting local charities and organisations, when we received the call to help provide a skip hire solution for the 40th Chester Charity Raft Race, we were more than pleased to do our bit – though we did have some concerns about the floating potential of a large, metal RoRo!

It turned out, however, that it was to be used as a waste management solution for the event, and not as a raft – great stuff, as they’re perfect for that!

Taking in its 40th year, the Chester Charity Raft Race, which is organised and ran by the Rotary Club of Chester, was once again well attended, with thousands of people flocking from all over to see the many colourful and creative rafts taking part in the race and all monies raised to be donated to Wirral and Cheshire Prostate Cancer Support Group and other Rotary charities.

Heather Oldham, President of the Rotary Club of Chester, wrote: “On behalf of the Rotary Club of Chester, may I thank Alan’s Skips for your support with our Annual Charity Raft Race, and in particular, for helping supply us with a very impressive skip for the event, it is very much appreciated.”

The 40th Charity Raft Race looks set to donate upwards of £10,000 to their chosen charities, and we are proud to have played our part.

See you next July!
